Julie Seaman has been a nurse for over seven years. She is a 2014 Cum Laude graduate of Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland where she obtained her associates degree in nursing. During her education Julie became a member of Nursing Honor Society, Alpha Delta Nu. Julie began her nursing career in the mental health field working with patients that suffered from a substance use disorder. She quickly realized that the field of mental health and substance use was her passion. While working at Luminis Health (Anne Arundel Medical Center) in the behavioral health division, Julie became a member of the Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau.
In 2017 she graduated with President’s Honor’s from Chamberlain University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. In May of 2017 Julie received the Structural Empowerment Award/Mentor Role award. To further her knowledge in treating substance use disorders, Julie obtained her Certified Addiction Registered Nurse certification.
In March of 2019, Luminus provided the opportunity for Julie to obtain her instructor certification of Yoga 12 Step Recovery.
In May of 2021, Julie graduated from Walden University with her master’s degree. She is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Her passion and need to do more for patients in the mental health field inspired her to pursue further education in psychiatry. It is her determination as a psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide complete care for patients in mental health.
